Virtual Classes

Classes will be held once a month on the dates listed below. Classes will be held 12:00-1:00pm and are free and open to the public.

Please follow the registration link below to select the courses you wish to attend (the registration will appear as a survey). The zoom link to attend the classes registered for will be emailed the day before the class. By registering for classes, you will also receive the archive link to view the class(es) at your convenience.

This is a virtual event, but if you need to attend in person you are welcome to join MC Halbrook in the Glynn County Extension Office (325 Old Jesup Rd, Brunswick, GA 31520). Please leave a note in the accommodations question on the registration saying that you will attend in person so that we can prepare the space.

  • May 2 Vermiculture, Let’s Worm Our Way Into This Composting (Virtual Series) Vermicomposting is an eco-friendly way of reducing waste and creating nutrient-rich soil compost and liquid fertilizers with the use of worms. You can raise these red wigglers indoors or outdoors in very small spaces with very little maintenance.   • May 4 Plant Sale Fundraiser for Master Gardener Volunteers This fundraiser is part of the Spring into Summer Makers Market at the Ballard Complex on May 4th. Money raised will go back into the Madge Merritt 4-H Teaching Garden where the sale is taking place. Come tour the garden, buy some plants, and enjoy the rest of the Makers Market. This is a Cash and Carry fundraiser so please make sure you have some cash on hand! There will be restrooms available and parking on an asphalt lot.

  • May 7 2024 Alfalfa in the South Workshop and Field Day A one day field day/workshop focused on in-depth discussion focused on the utilization of Alfalfa in Southern environments. Led by Dr. Jennifer Tucker (UGA) and Dr. Kim Mullenix (AU) this multi-state collaborative event will have a heavy focus on producer discussion and interaction with a producer panel with three Georgia producers at varying levels of experiences and a variety of application of alfalfa use within their systems. Also the event will highlight tours of the Better Grazing Program with active grazing of varied rotation intervals of a 4 year old stand of alfalfa-bermudagrass in real-time, discussions on-site of research results from the past 8 years, practical uses of alfalfa in southern systems, and more!
