Extension Serves the Entire Community

McIntosh County Extension offers a wealth of information and services for residents of our county.

Our 4-H agent, Lauryn Gilmer, creates and organizes youth educational programs including competitive events which will assist young people to develop citizenship, leadership, responsibility and life skills through experiential learning.

Our Agriculture and Natural Resources agent, M.C. Halbrook, provides research-based information, educational programming, and resources to homeowners and commercial clientele. Common topics include landscape maintenance, pest control, fruit and vegetable production, caring for trees, turf-grass and agriculture production.

Our Family and Consumer Sciences agent, Michelle Quick, works to design and implement educational opportunities covering community needs such as financial planning, healthy living, food and nutrition, budgeting, and household care.
