  • Apr 26 Right Bite Diabetes Cooking School Right Bite Diabetes Cooking School emphasizing the importance of healthy food preparation in the control of diabetes will be offered by the Monroe County Office of the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension. Right Bite will begin on April 26 (6AM -8PM) on Zoom. Classes will meet 8 times throughout 2024 (1/26, 2/23, 4/26, 5/31, 6/28, 7/26, 8/30, & 10/25). Registration will be on a class-to-class basis. We recommend you attend a minimum of 3 classes throughout the year. Classes will be led by Amanda Harner. Each session will feature a brief presentation on some aspect of nutrition management of diabetes along with the demonstration and sampling of lower calorie, controlled carbohydrate recipes. Recipes will be emailed before class so you can purchase groceries for class. *Separate registration for each class. *For more information call the Monroe County Extension Office at 478-994-7014.

  • Apr 27 Make & Take Nesting Shelves Come build with us! On Saturday, April 27th, Oconee County GA Cooperative Extension will be holding a Make & Take nesting shelf building program. Participants will be building a nesting shelf for American Robins, Barn Swallows, and Eastern Phoebes. Pre-registration is required and the cost of nest shelf building slot is $25. If you would like more information or are in registering for the Make & Take program, call 706-542-7078 or stop by the UGA Extension – Oconee County office at 1420 Experiment Station Rd., Watkinsville, GA.
