The University of Georgia Peach County Cooperative Extension Office extends lifelong learning to Georgia citizens through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth and families.
Peach County faculty and trained support staff provide educational programs as well as a number of Ag testings services to the citizens of Peach County. Our Ag Agent provides unbiased, research-based info that helps clients make critical decisions. Extension recommendations focus on maximizing production and profit, while minimizing environmental impacts.

Apr 23 - Apr 25 Meat and Poultry HACCP This 2.5-day program combines a unique level of lectures and work group discussions from a broad based faculty of meat and poultry scientists, HACCP experts, and authorities from academia. Interspersed between the lectures are hands-on break-out groups and exercises geared to the meat industry to give the attendee a more in-depth knowledge of developing and monitoring a HACCP food safety plan, sanitation, etc.

Apr 23 Backyard Cattle 101 Have you been considering getting cattle for meat or milk for your family but are not sure where to start? Let's get your backyard cattle journey started on the right foot. Oconee County Extension will be hosting a 2-day workshop on the basics of backyard cattle. Meeting dates will be Tuesday, 4/23 and Thursday, 4/25 at the Oconee County Extension Office from 6-7:30PM. Registration will cover both days so you'll only have to pay the $20 fee once! A light dinner will be provided. Participants will also receive a gift to help them start their backyard cattle journey.
