What is 4-H?

4-H is an educational youth program focusing on the needs, interests, and concerns of young people. Our aim is to help Union youth gain a positive self-concept, develop social skills and decision-making abilities, and learn subject knowledge needed for a productive life. 4-H members develop leadership and citizenship skills through individual project work, group activities, community service, and school meetings. We are the youth division of the UGA Extension program. Visit the What is 4-H Page to learn more about the 4-H Program.

Cloverleaf 4-H

Cloverleaf 4-H'ers are 4th, 5th, and 6th grade 4-H members that meet in their respective classrooms at the Elementary and Middle school during the school day. Meetings focus on developing leadership skills through club officers and public speaking skills through oral demonstrations. An educational program is conducted each month. 


Junior 4-H

Junior 4-H'ers are 7th & 8th grade 4-H members. Meetings focus on community service, leadership development, and public speaking. Junior 4-H’ers have the opportunity to attend weekend events and other educational competitions such as Junior Conference and Consumer Judging. Junior 4-H Meetings are held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday's of the month after school from 3:00 - 3:45 PM in the 4-H room at the Pat Haralson Civic Center. 


Senior 4-H

Seniors 4-H'ers are 9th - 12th grade 4-H members. Meetings are planned and conducted by club officers and the 4-H agent. Meetings focus on civic engagement, group activities and 4-H development. Senior 4-H’ers have the opportunity to attend weekend events and other educational competitions such as Fall Forum and Poultry Judging. High School 4-H'ers in Union County are among the most active and successful in the state.  Senior 4-H Meetings are held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday's of the month before school from 7:20-7:45 AM at the Union County High School Library.
