Testing Services

It's that time of year again to get your gardens ready to plant. Make sure you fertilize only for what your soil needs. Bring a sample of your soil by our office for testing. We will send it to the UGA lab for testing. Usually we receive the results back within ten days. View the soil testing brochure for proper sampling instructions.

  • Soil Test (basic test) $6.00 plus postage paid by client.
  • Water Test - W-1 (basic test) $20.00 plus postage paid by client.
  • GA. Expanded Water Test - W-2 (required for water treatment design) $60 plus postage paid by client
  • More extensive testing available. Call for pricing.
  • Samples must be packaged correctly to avoid contamination.
For a W1 and W2 water test, a first draw water sample will be collected. To do this, take the sample between a 6-12 hour period during which time there was no water usage. The GA-EPD recommends that either early morning or evenings upon returning home are the best sampling times to ensure that the necessary stagnant water conditions exist. A kitchen or bathroom cold-water faucet is to be used for sampling. If the primary concern is the well pump, draw the water from as near the well head as possible. Place a quart container below the faucet and gently open the cold water tap. Completely fill. Transfer a portion to a 4 oz. (125 mL) sample bottle for W1 and a 16 oz. (500 mL) for W2, tightly cap and place in the mail.
