4-H Youth Development

Georgia 4-H provides experiences for young people to learn by doing. 4-H’ers complete hands-on projects in our focus areas of Agriculture and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Healthy Living, and Civic Engagement.  They receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles. Youth can experience 4-H in every county of the state through in-school and after-school programs, community clubs, project work, and 4-H camps.

Who is eligible?

Any youth, ages 9-19, may join. Stewart County 4-H has more than 1,000 members.

• 4-H'ers in grades 4-6 are referred to as Cloverleafs.
• 4-H'ers in grades 7-8 are referred to as Juniors.
• 4-H'ers in grades 9-12 are referred to as Seniors.

What do we do?

Our youth participate in a number of activities and events including summer camp, in-school club meetings, project achievement, workshops, field trips, community service projects and much more!

How much does it cost?

There is no charge for general membership. Optional events, activities and some clubs may have a nominal charge.

Can parents be involved?

Of course! From serving as a chaperone at 4-H Summer camp to leading a special interest team, 4-H offers a variety of opportunities for volunteer service in youth development programming.  We hope you will find your niche with us and share your time and talents in building our next generation of leaders.
