Our mission is to extend lifelong learning to Georgia citizens through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth and families.


Oconee Extension helps Georgians become healthier, more productive, financially independent and environmentally responsible. Extension agents stay in touch with issues relevant to people in Oconee County.

    • The Basics of Home Canning
    • 6:00 PM | Watkinsville, GA
    • Canning is a fun and economical way to make fresh foods available year-round. Join us to learn safe methods of canning food at home. You can also bring in your pressure canner lids to have the dial gauge tested for accuracy. Additional hands-on canning sessions will be offered at the Oconee County Extension office.

    • Clocogwamama 4K Race
    • 6:00 PM | Watkinsville, GA
    • This 4K race is part of the Clover Glove Race Series and will benefit Georgia 4-H as well as Clarke, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Walton, Madison and Morgan County 4-H Clubs. Registration is $18 until September 25 and $25 afterwards. The course will be ran on property of the J. Phil Campbell Research and Education Center.
