About 4-H

What is the mission of Georgia 4-H?

The mission of Georgia 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society. This mission is accomplished through "hands-on" learning experiences focused on agricultural and environmental issues, agriculture awareness, leadership, communication skills, foods and nutrition, health, energy conservation, and citizenship.

What is 4-H?

4-H is a youth development program that seeks to build leadership skills, public speaking skills, citizenship, and community service. 4-H is exploring, discovering, encouraging, challenging, and of course having fun! 4-H is a branch of the University of Georgia and UGA Extension Camden County.

Camden County 4-H works with resident youth in 5th-12th grades enrolled in public, private, and home school.  Regular in school club meetings are held monthly for 5th graders enrolled in public school and we offer a large variety of programming outside of school for all 5th - 12th graders.  Program topics include STEM, healthy living, and environmental education. We strive to match the interests of our 4-H participants.
